Abraham's bosom
Definition
Obsolete, 19 th century euphemism for the vagina, possibly derived from a passage of the Bible, Luke 16:22: ' And it came to pass that [Lazarus] died and was carried away by an angel into Abraham's bosom.' Abraham's bosom, in this sense, is heaven, and the vagina, by comparison, is regarded as a heavenly bosom for the penis. See vagina for synonyms.
